PM & Families Farewell Air Force For Afghanistan

Today an Air Force Hercules with 37 personnel departed for the Afghanistan region to contribute to Operation Enduring Freedom.

Cpl Derek says goodbye to wife Cynthia and daughter Bobbie Jo, at
Whenuapai Air Base this morning. Cpl Derek is one of 37 Air Force personnel who departed this morning in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

11- Proud parents Bob, an ex-Air Force Warrant Officer and Dot bid farewell Cpl Jason, a Supplier heading off this morning as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.


Prime Minister Right Hon Helen Clark chats with Wing Commander Scott Arrell as everyone prepares to board the aircraft. The 37 Air Force personnel are expected to be away for 3 months working as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Sgt Steve, an Air Force Loadmaster, gets a final farewell from the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence as he boards the Hercules destined for the Afghanistan region as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Prime Minister Helen Clark wishes Wing Commander Scott Arrell good luck just prior to the Air Force Hercules and 37 personnel depart in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
