BIA Welcomes Building Act Changes
The Building Industry Authority (BIA) today welcomed the Government’s decisions on proposals for better regulation of the building industry.
“Not only will the proposed changes put in place a stronger set of building controls but they will also clarify what the Government and consumers expect of builders and other industry participants. They will also allow the BIA to take a more proactive role in monitoring and enforcing the building regulations, which is welcome”, said BIA Chairman Barry Brown.
“The BIA provided significant
input to the Review of the Building Act and believes the
final outcome appropriately balances the needs of consumers,
industry and government (both local and central) in a way
that will allow all parties to proceed with
confidence.
