Asia 2000 Foundation announces new Board members

Sir Dryden Spring, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Asia 2000
Foundation of New Zealand (Asia 2000), has welcomed the appointment of five
new members to the Board by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the
Hon. Phil Goff.

The new board members are Mr Peter Biggs, Managing Director, Clemenger
BBDO/Wellington and Chair of Creative NZ; Ms Jo Anne Brosnahan, Chief
Executive, Auckland Regional Council; Mr Jeremy Hunt, Chief Executive, HSBC;
Mr Michael Tai-Yang Park, Managing Director, L M Rankine Trading Company;
and Mr Henry van der Heyden, Chairman, Fonterra Co-operative Group.

In announcing the appointments, Sir Dryden said, "I am pleased to welcome
these new members to the Asia 2000 board. Their experience and skills have
an exceptional breadth and depth which will be of considerable benefit to
our organisation."

Asia 2000 is a non-profit organisation dedicated to building New Zealand's
links with Asia in business, culture, education and media. The Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Trade has been responsible for appointing the board
members of Asia 2000 since its inception in 1994.

The Asia 2000 Board consists of 21 members and includes representatives of
the private sector, government and social interests.
