Debate questions democracy – or will laughter win out on the day?

The ‘girls’ will verse the ‘boys’ in a debate guaranteeing hilarity and fun at the Local Government New Zealand conference in Rotorua on Monday 29 July.
The debate, ‘Dictatorship is a better choice than democracy’ will see the woman supporting dictatorship and the men expressing the great advantages of democracy.
While the debate topic was selected well prior to the announcement of the general election the timelines of the topic is well chosen for this moment in time. General commentary and reflection on the outcome of the election will be unavoidable.
Clever, intelligent, funny, experienced and possibly abusive debators will bring out the best (and the worst) in each other.
