Wednesday 3rd July

After many collaborative efforts behind the scene's, the Aotearoa Independent Media Centre is rapturous to announce the launch of the newly designed and upgraded website, to be found at www.indymedia.org.nz.

Aotearoa Independent Media Centre (IMC) is part of a global network of collectively run media outlets for the creation of radical, accurate, and passionate tellings of the truth. We work out of a love and inspiration for people who continue to work for a better world, despite corporate media's distortions and unwillingness to cover the efforts to free humanity.

The Aotearoa IMC follows the principles of Open Publishing, a new form of media that has been critical in providing a 'from the street' view of many major protests and grass roots actions across the globe. Open publishing allows anyone to upload their stories, images, sound and video to the Aotearoa Indymedia newswire.

The site is run and administered by volunteers. Nothing is censored, if necessary articles and posts may be hidden in accordance with the editorial policy, but they are still on the site to view, they are only one click away.

Indymedia is available to all; it is a forum for the grass roots. Indymedia has featured political demonstrations, direct action, issues concerning indigenous people, and the many, many varieties of activity that encircle the global movements to make the world a better place for all.
