Ministry Of Lies & Propaganda

Published: Thu 9 May 2002 11:25 AM
"Don’t believe the Government propaganda machine," said Peter Osborne, Libertarianz Associate Spokesman for Education Deregulation, after reading a full-page newspaper advertisement from the Ministry of Education.
"This is a blatant attempt by the Government to negatively influence public opinion toward the teachers, who have been seeking a pay rise now for over a year."
Mr. Osborne laughed at a comment in the advertisement stating the Government’s concern at the strike action's impact on students and their families. "This Government is only concerned with maintaining its power. Previous governments have been consecutively fooling the public for over a hundred years now. They have completely monopolised the education system through the use of involuntary funds – also known as tax - and they have ruled by regulation. Private institutions, who somehow have to compete with the State, still manage to do a better job even though the State holds the big stick."
Mr. Osborne has some advice for the striking teachers. "Any teacher worth their salt would resign and refuse to work for public education. This would greatly weaken the Government's stranglehold and open the door for more private institutions. Only then will the brainwashing end and the real education begin."
In conclusion, Mr. Osborne states that "a Libertarianz Government will gladly do itself out of a job and disintegrate the Ministry of Education. Teachers will be able to negotiate their employment on individual merit; people will no longer be forced to subsidise the education of others. Education will flourish. No more will the State be able to force its own twisted morality upon the rest of New Zealand."
It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
