DICKNZ Awards 2001, Thursday
On Thursday 15 November, the DICNZ (Defence Industry Committee) Awards for Excellence will be presented at the Defence
Technologies Joint Action Group Inc annual meeting at the Duxton Hotel in Wellington - for more information on this,

You are invited to join the DICKNZ (Destructive Industries Connected to Killing) Awards which will also be held at the
Duxton Hotel on the same evening. There will be a number of DICKNZ Awards presented to NZ companies in categories
including: Company most connected to nuclear weapons, Company connected to most oppressive overseas armed forces, and
more.
In addition there will be Special DICKNZ ‘Guided Missiles and Misguided Men’ Awards (*see note below) presented to
assorted politicians - categories in this will include: Most clever dick remark about the death of civilians, Premier
turncoat award ... and even more entertaining ones to be revealed on the night!
After the presentation of the DICKNZ Awards 2001 there will be a candle lit vigil in memory of those killed and maimed
by the efforts of those who profit from death and destruction.
Join in the presentation ceremony for the DICKNZ Awards 2001 - from 7-30pm to 9pm, Thursday 15 November, Duxton Hotel
(opposite Michael Fowler centre carpark). Bring candles, banners or placards on the themes of ‘Support welfare not
warfare’ and ‘Defence industries - profiting from death and destruction’, evening dress is preferred but not compulsory!
If you wish to take advantage of the opportunity to put your blood-red handprint on the Awards board, then you may want
to bring a waterproof glove with you; soap water and towels will be provided for those without gloves.
