Tomorrow is cut off day for the nations collective of GE Free Photographs to be received in Wellington which shall then
be coalated for the delivery to Government next Thursday evening, 1 November .
Alannah Currie from Auckland who instigated the "Entertainers Against GE in Food" has worked collectively with Rudolf
Boulee from Christchurch to bring together all their images & create a national voice of the opposition to the Release of GE into the Environment.
Thousands of New Zealander's have sent in their photographs - ranging from grandma in her vege patch to celebs that we
recognise in our daily lives - which will this weekend be woven into a collective net for delivery next Thursday at Shed
11, Queens Wharf, Wellington.
Alannah & Rudolf shall travel next Tuesday to the Capital to help promote the exhibition and then personally deliver the
photographs to the Ministers in attendance.
Kara Vandeleur (artist), Kay Baker (business woman) & Charlotte Huddleston (art curator) shall collect the final shipment of photographs (at 11am Friday 26 October) from
Shed 11and then proceed with the logistics of linking the images together.
"It's very exciting to be part of a national spirit of people who believe so strongly in protecting their beloved
country" said Vandeleur.
"Finally, such an important issue is getting the coverage it deserves. New Zealanders have only been hearing a few of
the pro viewpoints on this issue which ironically, some of the points we agree with anyway .... "controlled"
experimentation is one they promoted and of course is one that we respect also! So let's keep it where we know it can be
controlled & be of most benefit to our society - In the Laboratory. The risks of GE release are so grave that every level of economy
is going to be endangered that is makes no sense to proceed especially when we see other countries now having second
thought which are all too late", said Vandeleur.
