~ Friday, 21 September, Christchurch: peace vigil with speakers from the Islamic, Jewish and Christian faith traditions, 5pm in Cathedral Square; organised by an ad-hoc interfaith group, for more info contact Rev Dr Margaret Mayman, tel (03) 348 6418, m.mayman@clear.net.nz

~ Saturday, 22 September, Auckland: rally for peace - bringing together people from Auckland's multi cultural community to deliver messages of peace, with speakers on the theme 'towards global peace now', from 11am to 1pm, in Queen Elizabeth Square. At 12noon - join in 'Global Drumcircles for Peace' linking with drum circles all around the world drumming for peace, bring your own drums or other percussion instruments! ~ Saturday, 22 September, Wellington: Concert for Peace and Humanity - an event to remember the victims of the tragedies in the US, to urge the US government to find a peaceful solution to the crisis and to show support for the Muslim and other migrant and refugee communities, for more info contact Veronica Lawrence, tel (04) 801 9928 or 801 9927.

* Emergency response vigil details - if the US government begins retaliatory missile strikes or bombing, people will gather at the following places on the day any such attacks begin: * in Wellington - gather at 5pm, at the Cenotaph (cnr Bowen Street, in front of the Beehive); * in Auckland - gather at 5pm, in Aotea Square; * in Christchurch - gather at 5-30pm, outside the Cathedral in the Square.
