Brash Speech 'Outs' English

Published: Fri 3 Aug 2001 10:27 AM
Bill English's reported comments that Don Brash's speech to the 'Knowledge Wave' conference was 'just another speech' demonstrates what a joke the National Party's principles are.
Every point that Brash made in his speech is a direct illustration of the National Party's stated principles of 'maximum freedom and the avoidance of unnecessary controls. Every point illustrated that more freedom is necessary to halt New Zealand's slide out of the developed word. And every single point apparently went over the head of the supine English - instead of being galvanised into principled action as he should have been, English slithered for cover.
The unprincipled and bloodless opposition of English and the National Party is no threat to this authoritarian government and serves only to keep them in power - with such spineless opposition even incompetent vermin like Maharey and Cullen are able to flourish.
Reminded that English also had "no objection in principle" to Cullen's socialist super scheme, Cresswell concludes: "Michelle Boag announced at her presidential inauguration that she intended to have the National Party's principles printed on all their publicity material. While it would certainly help English and his egregious accomplices to read his party's principles occasionally, Ms Boag might be advised that most readers will only turn away with disgust at the hypocrisy."
It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
