Waterways Victim Of Predictable Backsliding

"Who is really surprised that Jim Anderton is now seeking to sweep Whitianga's problems under the Parliamentary carpet?" asks Libertarianz Leader and Coromandel candidate Peter Cresswell. "Given the time they have waited so far, I don't think a few weeks will be the end of the world," Jim says arrogantly this morning. Earlier he had told a delegation from Whitianga that buses full of Whitianga-ites thronging the forecourt of Parliament would be "unhelpful." "They sure would be," points out Cresswell. "Unhelpful to Jim, and his brood of backsliding Beehive Bludgers!"

"There's a free lesson in political pressure her for anyone who cares to look," continues Cresswell. "When busloads of angry Whitianga-ites threaten to fill Parliament's forecourt, immediate action is promised. But when those buses are withdrawn, the anger and the promised 'quick-fix' is diverted into an interminably stultifying Select Committee, which will no doubt follow 'due process' until all the anger has gone, or Jeanette Fitzsimons embarrasses herself again - whichever happens later."

"By trusting the siren words of the politicians, the good people of Whitianga have let the politicians off the hook they had them hanging on!" concludes Cresswell. "I trust they do not need to learn their lesson twice!"

It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
