Taxpayers Milked Again!

PRESS RELEASE Libertarianz Party

Taxpayers Milked Again!

"Dr Michael Cullen has just revealed that government spending on the Disability Allowance, Invalids Benefit and Unemployment Benefit has been revised upward by more than $206 million! " says Libertarianz spokesman Lindsay Mitchell. "In addition, yesterday it was confirmed that a new benefit, Paid Parental Leave, will also be paid for by the taxpayer. How is the poor taxpayer to get ahead?" she wonders.

"More and more of the tax-take is being shovelled into welfare," notes Mitchell, who is outraged at the iniquity of further robbing Peter to pay Paul. "Why should one couple forego their own spending so one parent can stay at home with their child longterm, and then be forced to fund a couple who aren't prepared to forgo their spending? The recent Community Services Card debacle illustates that many families with lower incomes are being made to sudsidise those with higher incomes."

"The role of the productive taxpayer - especially one who uses the private health system and has no children - is rapidly becoming one of literally propping up the unproductive," says Mitchell. "Libertarianz would return to private provision of health, education and welfare. We believe that the individual must be free to spend his money as he sees fit, not as a government sees fit."

"Its enough to make you vote Libertarianz!"
