Yes the bureaucrats wet dream is over. Thank god.

You know in a civilised society such as this one you would have thought we would have elevated to new levels of civility(hence the term civilisation), but you see now I have realised the true light of Helen that we shall and always will be savages at heart.

Despite the masses of polling data from private staticians that have perfected statistics into almost a science we need to stick a gun into peoples faces show them a sheet, get them to fill it out with their own pen, reveal all their private details so that some faceless bureacrat can get his greedy little eyes into our private lives.

And why is this necessary for the country?

Surely to put citizens through stalinist style tactics in order to fill out a paper form. which is perhaps the strongest argument for keeping trees in their natural state that there is, must have some hidden agenda?

Nope. Average Wage/Inflationary pressures, staticians and the economists at the reserve bank do that. Religion, what are you going to do with that? Most MPs don't even swear themselves in by the bible anyway. Ethnicity? Just helps fuel xenophobic and racist policy from facists such as the Alliance(and I can't see why this would play a major role, we're all equal RIGHT?!).

And it goes on etcetera etcetera, I'm surprised that they didn't ask what I ate for breakfast!

Your name is perhaps the only decent question(as well as the number of persons occupying your household), in order to find the population of New Zealand. But you do have to wonder how they managed to find you in the first place if they didn't know how many people there were in New Zealand and where the lived!

But thankfully the Census of the People is over and we can all rest assured that our right to privacy will be violated for many generations to come.

However, after this discussion I think that the Census should be renamed to the Shumcksus. The Census, by the Shmucks, for the Shmucks too unbothered to oppose such a massive violation of privacy.
