"New Chief Executive – Garth Taylor"

Age Concern New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Garth Taylor as the new Chief Executive of Age Concern New Zealand.

Garth comes to Age Concern with extensive experience in the finance industry, plus the voluntary and elder care sectors.

Until 1996, Garth was employed in a range of managerial positions within the banking and finance industry. He was also involved in the voluntary sector with NZCCS South Canterbury, the Cancer Society, Jaycee and Rotary.

In 1996, he took up a position as Regional Manager-Elder Care for Presbyterian Support (Upper South Island), with a particular focus on rest home residential care and a management overview of the Senior Support division.

His previous position was as General Manager of the Nelson Golf Club.

Garth commenced work for Age Concern New Zealand on Monday 19 February 2001, following the resignation of the previous Chief Executive, Claire Austin.
