ACT/ACLP Apartheid References Offend
The first attacker was Prebble(as it always seems to be nowadays when the race card is played) saying that Maori shouldn't have their fair share of the benefits of free trade despite the Treaty of Waitangi). And calling the Singapore CEP agreement, that assures friendship and co-operation between 2 culturally different nations, racist with apartheid extremes.
The 2nd one is the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party(ACLP) who stated that not legalising cannabis could be seen as equal to legalising apartheid.
Both these statements are ludicrous and uncalled for. The New Zealand Liberation Party has already received several complaints from South African ex-patriates about the use of apartheid as some kind of(in the words of one person)"political bargaining chip".
The New Zealand Liberation Party recognises the passion that both political parties hold behind their pet causes of anti-anything treaty of waitangi and pro-turning New Zealand into a stoned nation but surely there must be a way to put forward these causes instead of offending races and using provocative words bringing about memories of racial oppression.
So maybe an agreement should be setup by a non-political faction that would assure that all political parties will not use racially provocative words or use race as an election card.
Such an agreement has already be signed by all the major political parties of Britain so I don't see why New Zealand should be in any way exempt from this sort of common sense thinking.
