Good faith chairman calls for public input

Good faith chairman calls for public input

The chairman of the group drawing up a draft code of good faith for collective bargaining, Walter Grills, says the consultation document released today represents a substantial amount of agreement between employer and union representatives over the interpretation of the Employment Relations Act.

Mr Grills said matters still to be agreed on by the Interim Good Faith Committee are marked on the consultation document so that interested parties can put their views to the Committee over the next two weeks.

"The Committee would welcome the public's views over the next fortnight. To avoid politicising the process, the Committee will not take a 'head count' of views, but will take careful note of all comment relating to specific points in the draft," Mr Grills said.

The consultation document is available on or through the websites of the NZ Employers' Federation, the NZ Council of Trade Unions, the Department of Labour and the State Services Commission:

The consultation document can also be obtained from Carolina Guerra at the Department of Labour on 04 915 4527.
