Wgtn - Tomorrow, Mike Moore
10 am - at the gates to Government House, Basin Reserve, Wellington.
Mike Moore, director general of the WTO and former PM, is receiving the Order of NZ tomorrow at 10-30am at Government house. Like people around the world who are opposing the WTO, we will be protesting outside Government House to voice our opposition to free trade at the expense of the environment and workers' rights. The WTO is an undemocratic organisation, and as director general Mike Moore is responsible for it's policies that increase the power of the even more undemocratic multinational corporations.
The strength of protests against the WTO in Seattle and elsewhere has been the diversity of groups who have been able to work together. In this tradition the demonstration will include unionists and workers, students, environmentalists, socialists, anarchists, and you!
Bring banners, placards, noise makers etc.
