Stand off in Mayor’s Office Continues

Stand off in Mayor’s Office Continues

Last night Adrian Chisholm continued to battle Big Brother (or in this case Big Sister) – sleeping overnight in Christine Fletcher’s office while the stand off between them simmered.

At issue: why did Big Sister Fletcher’s council spy on Chisholm, and why won’t she front up with the dossier now the secret’s out?

“This is a major constitutional issue,” said Chisholm, speaking from Fletcher’s office, “and it is one that deserves the widest publicity. The state - in the form of local government - has spied on me, and the evidence of that was tabled in Parliament yesterday. They have been found out, yet I have no recourse beyond trying to publicise the injustice of my case. Christine Fletcher has publicly told the Herald she will turn over the dossier to me, yet has privately told me I won’t be going near it.”

“These politicians and their bureaucratic minions are beneath contempt - they have ruined me, destroyed my livelihood, and driven my family to the wall. Now they take away my privacy by spying on me, and play games with the results.”

“I have nothing to lose from this occupation,” he says, “and I will stay as long as it takes to get satisfaction.”

Libertarianz leader Peter Cresswell says all productive New Zealanders should take note of Chisholm’s plight: “This statist nightmare could have happened to any of us,” he says - “He is fighting for all of us!”

Adrian can be contacted on the Mayor’s phone, at (09) 379 2020ex7057.
