Vote Winston First = Vote National
"At last a New Zealand First
MP has confessed that a vote for Winston Peters is a vote
for National," says Labour's campaign spokesperson Pete
Hodgson.
"Talking about the New Zealand First party list, Jenny Bloxham told 1ZB yesterday that 'this list will go with National'.
"This comes as no surprise to Labour. Mr Peters is a former National MP, minister and coalition partner. He is a Tory to the core. He has backed National before and he will do it again.
"We know Mr Peters tailors his party list as carefully as his pinstripes. Michael Laws, another of his many former MPs, told us so his memoir. He knows because he was part of the jack-up.
"Jenny Bloxham and Robyn McDonald, dumped down this year's list, leaned towards Labour in the last coalition negotiations. Mr Peters was obviously worried they would do so again, with good reason. Both MPs are amongst the most pro-Labour members of the New Zealand First caucus and Jenny Bloxham once sat on the New Zealand council of the Labour Party.
"New Zealanders who want to change the Government must get the message: a vote for Winston First is a vote to keep National in power.
"Only a Labour vote is a vote for
change."
