Cullen should do his homework - ACT

Published: Wed 3 Nov 1999 03:53 PM
ACT finance spokesman Rodney Hide said today that Labour's Dr Michael Cullen
should do his homework before making ill-informed comments about ACT's budget
showing that it is indeed possible to get to a flat tax of twenty cents in the
dollar.
"Cullen has never put out an alternative Budget and shows a woeful ignorance of
the basics of economics.
"Instead of harping on about ACT, Dr Cullen should be costing Labour's promises
and putting his Budget out for inspection. Why hasn't he done it? Can't he
do it?
"I challenge Dr Michael Cullen to put out a Budget and follow ACT's lead and
ask Infometrics for an independent assessment. Cullen should put up or shut
up," said Rodney Hide.
