ACT Finance Spokesman Rodney Hide today said that the tax policies of Labour and the Alliance were the opposite of every progressive social democratic government in the world today.
"Those Governments know that the best way to help working people is to secure a sound and growing economy and the way to do that is to cut taxes, not keep hiking them up.
"The Alliance and Labour's tax polices have two major flaws. The first is that it is hard to come up with a policy that will do more to drive jobs, dollars and our brightest and best to Australia. The cost to all of New Zealand will be huge.
"The second problem with these policies is that they won't raise enough money to match Labour and the Alliance's massive spending promises.
"The way forward for all of New Zealand is to get Government spending under control and to work towards a top rate of tax of 20 cents in the dollar," said Rodney Hide.
