Nats Not Standing In Wellington Central
The President of the New Zealand National Party, John Slater, announced today that the Party would not be standing a Constituency Candidate in the Wellington Central Electorate for the 1999 General Election.
"This decision was reached after an intensive and detailed study of all the implications".
"We are committed to delivering stable and effective government in association with like-minded people. The decision not to stand a Candidate in Wellington Central was reached after a full discussion and consultation with the Wellington Division and National Party members in the Wellington Central Electorate," Mr Slater said.
