8 Women in a Labour Cabinet? “I don’t think so”
Labour’s Empty Promises to Women
For Immediate Release
Labour’s promise to have 8 women in Cabinet
are empty, just like their other promises, according to
National MP Annabel Young.
“Labour MPs tell female audiences that there will be 8 women in a Labour Cabinet but it just won’t happen. The talent-pool is a bit shallow. Simply look at their women MPs and tell me who you think the 8 cabinet Ministers would be.”
“Labour selects its Cabinet
by vote of the whole Caucus so even Helen Clark and Phil
Goff don’t know who would get the nod and go into Cabinet.
Once again, Labour is making a promise that it has no way of
delivering.”
“Labour women MPs are: Clark; Dalziel,
Duncan, Dyson, Hobbs, Keall, King, Mackey, Mahuta, Pettis,
Tizard, Turia and Yates. A number of them, such as Mackey
and Pettis, won’t even make it back after the election.
Most of the others could never muster Caucus
support.
