New Zealand First Acknowledges the Passing of Rotorua’s Aunty Bea Yates
“On behalf of New Zealand First and its leader Rt Hon Winston Peters, it is with deepest regret that I acknowledge the passing of Rotorua’s treasured Beatrice Piatarihi Tui Yates (nee Grant), most fondly known as ‘Aunty Bea’,” New Zealand First Deputy Leader Fletcher Tabuteau says.
“She had the fullest of lives with many adventures and will be remembered for her strong advocacy of children, Māori, Rotorua, and the art of education.
“The loss of her company, her presence, and exuberant energy will be deeply felt.
“I extend my sincerest condolences and aroha to Aunty Bea’s family, friends, and the many people who will be feeling her loss right now,” Fletcher Tabuteau said.
“She will be greatly missed.”
