Continuation of Airport Flyer and commuter buses great news
“The announcement tonight that NZ Bus has decided to continue operating the Airport Flyer to and from Lower Hutt, as well as the direct commuter buses to Wellington, is outstanding news for Hutt residents” says MP for Hutt South Chris Bishop
“I’m just delighted that NZ Bus has decided to continue these services, even though they will have a reduced presence in the Hutt from mid-year as a result of the regional public transport shake-up
“This is a big win for the thousands of Hutt residents who signed petitions online and in-person, asking that these important services be retained.
“I’ve enjoyed working alongside Mayor Ray Wallace, Councillor Campbell Barry and Labour MP Ginny Andersen to advocate on behalf of the community to the Regional Council, NZ Bus and new operator Transit. This is a great example of people power working!”
“While we’ve got to see the fine print from NZ Bus, this is a big victory for the Hutt and I’m stoked residents will be able to continue to use these very popular and useful services” says Mr Bishop
