Have your say on the Education Amendment Bill
You
have until Friday 13 April 2018 to have your say on the
Education Amendment Bill. The Education and Workforce
Committee is now inviting submissions on this bill.
The
bill would amend the Education Act 1989, and the related
Education (Update) Amendment Act 2017 to:
•
Remove National Standards
• Remove the
Partnership School Kura Hourua model
•
Establish new state schools with alternatively constituted
boards
• Provide for councils of tertiary
education institutions to have staff and student
members
• Make it an offence to make a false
representation in order to receive free tertiary
education
• Make changes to strategic planning
and reporting requirements for state and state integrated
schools.
