OHARIU RESIDENTS KEEN FOR NEWS ON JOHNSONVILLE MALL UPGRADE
Ohariu MP Hon Peter Dunne says he is getting a clear message from northern suburbs residents about the length of time it is taking for the long-awaited Johnsonville Mall upgrade to get underway.
“There was great excitement in September 2016 when Stride Property Group announced its plans to upgrade the shopping centre, and these were generally well-received.
“It was noted then that consent applications were about to be lodged with the Wellington City Council, but residents are becoming concerned that nothing much seems to have happened since then.
“This is understandable, given the long delays already associated with this project, but it would be helpful if the Council could set out the current position about the timetable for approving consents so that local people can be reassured,” Mr Dunne says.
Mr Dunne says he is a getting a very loud and clear message from Ohariu people that they want associated with the project to “just get on with it.”
