Government must act on new Novopay debacle
The latest sorry chapter in the Novopay saga is a serious privacy breach and the Government must find out what has gone wrong, says Acting Education spokesperson Jenny Salesa.
“This latest botch-up is the result of the National Government’s mismanagement of Novopay from day one.
“The fact that schools from Auckland to Taupo have been sent the wrong pay details should come as no surprise to the Government Ministers who have been responsible for one Novopay botch-up after another.
“This makes the Minister’s claim that Novopay has significantly improved since 2012 a bad joke.
“This is not the first serious privacy breach under this Government. That is simply not good enough.
“Every New Zealander expects the Government to take their privacy seriously, whether they’re teaching our kids or making a claim for ACC,” says Jenny Salesa.
