Immigration Continues to Wreak Havoc
Immigration to New Zealand¬ continues to climb through the roof, says New Zealand First Leader and Member of Parliament for Northland Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“Kiwis can expect longer hospital queues and more competition for jobs and housing.
“Thanks to the National government’s open door immigration policy there’s no relief in sight as Statistics NZ lists another record net gain of 70,000 immigrants for the year to September 2016.
“National’s philosophy appears to be to load up this country with people, to emulate an already overcrowded UK and Europe.
“It is destroying the Kiwi way of life. The increased numbers are not matched by increased economic performance as income per person in New Zealand falls.
“That’s the essence which so many commentators have failed to understand for far too long.
“Masses of people is not necessarily better, and currently is ruining the chances of young Kiwis to rent and buy a home, and get a job so they can get a start in life.
“The strength of an immigration policy is fitting it to meet our requirements – but that’s way too much of a common sense approach for National.
“If they had any concerns for the welfare of New Zealanders they would take it on board immediately.”
