Bishop congratulates Hutt TIN 100 companies
National List MP based in Hutt South Chris Bishop is congratulating the two Hutt Valley companies listed in the annual TIN100 report on the performance of New Zealand’s top hi-tech companies. The TIN top 100 companies include Fraser Engineering Group (ranked 63rd) and Pertronic Industries (75th), both based in Taita.
“The top 200 tech companies in NZ have grown by 12% in the last year alone, with their combined annual revenues up to $9.4bn. It’s great to see some Hutt companies in there again,” Mr Bishop says.
“I’m also delighted to see two new TIN 100 Early Stage companies from the Hutt – Auramer Bio based at the Callaghan Innovation campus, and Times-7 in Alicetown. I visited Times-7 recently and was impressed by the work they’re RFID antennas which are used in the Cigna Round The Bays races and in Qantas Frequent Flyer bag tags.
Pertronic Industries is at the forefront of advance automatic fire detection systems design, producing world-class products at competitive prices. All design, development and manufacturing is carried out in the Hutt.
Fraser Engineering are leaders in the use of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) technology to produce world-class components and products. They are highly focused on design as well as manufacturing. It manufactures about 90 per cent of the New Zealand Fire Service fleet as well as trucks for Australia, Pacific Islands, Fiji, Cook Islands, New Guinea and Asia.
“Lower Hutt has the fourth-highest number of people employed in the medium high-tech manufacturing industry in all of New Zealand. Given that the Wellington region’s tech revenue growth led the country, this bodes well for the future of ‘Technology Valley’,” says Mr Bishop.
“I also want to acknowledge TIN Next100 companies Tekron International and Wedgelock Equipment for their performance.”
Tekron provide high precision GPS and atomic clock time keeping technologies which are critical in national power grids, as well as other civilian and military networks. Wedgelock Equipment are leaders in the design and manufacture of world-class excavator attachments with a focus on being entrepreneurial problem-solvers.
