New Flight Times for Northland a Bit up And Down
Air New Zealand is flying into the common sense zone – but they haven’t quite got there yet, says Northland MP Rt Hon Winston Peters
“With a re-think of their service from Whangarei to Auckland to a 7.10am departure they have seen sense,” the New Zealand First Leader says.
“The proposal to change it to a departure that was 45 minutes later was of no use for anyone wanting to do a day’s work in the supercity or beyond.
“But the new departure time from Kerikeri to Auckland, at 6am, is way to inconvenient. The airline has failed to take into account that many passengers have to travel from afar to get to the airport.
“For people from the Bay of Islands and the Hokianga there are also ferry trips involved on the journey.
“The government is all talk about the regions, but in a critical area like transport the state airline is not getting it right.”
