Health Map shows Government cuts
Labour has launched an interactive Health Map allowing Kiwis to see how the Budget and National’s $1.7 billion of health
cuts have hurt services in their area, says Labour’s Health spokesperson Annette King.
“People can go to the Health Map at http://www.labour.org.nz/healthmap, enter their town, city, or address and see the level of funding cuts at their local DHB, and other information such as
operations that have been denied and levels of understaffing. The information includes the latest data on DHB funding
from today’s budget.
“Labour’s Health Map shows how National’s cuts have hit every part of New Zealand, with Kiwis all over the country
missing out on the care they need,” says Annette King.
The data for the Health Map has been compiled from a number of official government sources including Parliamentary
Questions, Treasury budget data, DHB clinical staffing numbers, Monthly Updates to the Minister, Statistics New Zealand
population data, DHB documents and survey data from the PSA.
