Serco wants in on state house sell off
The Government must keep scandal plagued outsourcing company Serco away from our state housing after their disastrous record running Mt Eden prison, Labour’s Housing spokesperson Phil Twyford says.
"Today it has emerged that at the same time Serco was under investigation for the scandals at Mt Eden, it was trying to line up to be involved in managing state houses after they are sold off by the Government.
"Bill English needs to rule out any involvement by Serco in state housing.
“Not even this Government can be so committed to an ideology of outsourcing that they would put a company with Serco’s track record in charge of state housing.
"The Government spent millions of dollars selling off our prisons to Serco and it was a disaster. They must not make the same mistake with our state houses," says Phil Twyford.
