John Key: Our plan for the next three years
This week New Zealand’s fifty-first Parliament convened for the first time.
The National Caucus is a strong, united team and I was pleased to hear the first maiden speeches of our new MPs.
I was also proud to take the opportunity to outline some of the Government’s priorities for the coming term.
National remains focused on returning to surplus this financial year and reducing debt.
We will continue building a stronger economy which supports more jobs and higher incomes.
We will reform the Resource Management Act to provide more certainty around resource allocation decisions.
ACC levies will reduce in 2015, with more reductions expected from 2016.
We will continue to invest in modern infrastructure, progressing the remainder of the Roads of National Significance programme together with a package of state highway projects in Auckland and across the regions.
And we will continue to deliver high-quality public services, including helping more people off welfare and into work, providing free Doctors’ visits and prescriptions for under-13s, and helping more families into their first home.
National is privileged to have won the trust and goodwill of New Zealanders for a third Parliamentary term, and will seek to re-earn that trust and goodwill every day over the next three years.
See more about our plan here.
Thank you
Rt Hon John Key
