HOLD FAST TO YOUR MANA
MANA leader and Tai Tokerau MP, Hone Harawira
Friday 19 September 2014
Hone Harawira today called on the voters of Tai Tokerau to hold fast to their mana, and not be dictated to by those
party leaders who have ganged together to tell them how to vote.
“I call on our people to answer them in the strongest way possible, by making sure that every one of your whanau gets
down to the polling booths over the next 48 hours and votes for me”, said MANA leader and Tai Tokerau MP, Hone Harawira.
“The people of Tai Tokerau have had so much taken from them already, their land, their waters and their jobs”, said
Harawira. “Now some party leaders want to take away their right to freely choose their next MP, and that’s just not
right.”
“Should the voters of Tai Tokerau return me as their MP, they will also be voting for three more freedom fighters, Laila
Harre, Annette Sykes and John Minto to join me in the next parliament, and that’s really important because if we are to
change this government, then we will need as many seats as possible to do it, and every vote cast for me helps bring in
three more MPs off the list.”
“It will be a big job leading the fight to end child poverty, create jobs and build 30,000 new homes, but with these
three by my side it will be a lot easier.”
“It has never been more important for voters in Tai Tokerau to get out and vote, and to send a clear message that the
mana of the Tai Tokerau is not up for grabs.”
“And I am asking the people to answer this challenge to their mana, by entrusting me with their vote.”
