Key has serious questions to answer on Dirty Politics
John Key must answer the serious questions raised in Nicky Hager’s new book which reveal examples of dirty politics that New Zealanders will be deeply concerned about, Labour MP Grant Robertson says.
“Many people will be disturbed by the evidence in the book of John Key’s team indulging in gutter politics and abusing their power.
“Kiwis are telling us they want positive politics focusing on policy and how to create a better New Zealand. Labour is focused on campaigning on our positive vision for a better and fairer New Zealand.
“Kiwis deserve better from National. John Key
and his team must answer serious questions about the depth
of their involvement in these attacks, starting
with:
1. Does he think this kind of gutter approach to
politics is acceptable to New Zealanders?
2. What
direction did he or his team give Jason Ede regarding his
activities and involvement with Cameron Slater?
3. What
involvement did he or his office have in the release of SIS
material to Cameron Slater?
4. What involvement did he or
his office have in the breach of the Labour Party’s
database?
“John Key must front up to New Zealanders about the behavior of his team. He needs to realise they want more positive politics and that’s what Labour is committed to,” Grant Robertson said.
