Scott Simpson Welcomes 2014 Budget
Coromandel MP Scott Simpson says National’s 2014 Budget is a responsible one, meaning the government can keep up its good work.
Mr Simpson says “families, health and education are at the heart of this Budget. This focusses on the things that people in the Coromandel tell me really matter to them – improving their standards of living.”
We're extending and expanding paid parental leave and increasing the parental tax credit.
We're also making doctors' visits and prescriptions free for children under 13.
“Our spending priorities are health, education and helping families to get ahead.
“Times have been tough for many Kiwis, this Budget supports the work we’ve been doing to rebuild New Zealand’s economy.”
“Many people in the Coromandel are feeling optimistic as business confidence is growing. This budget will continue steering New Zealand in the right economic direction.”
