Serious Evidence That Oravida Did Benefit From Collins Visit

New Zealand First has revealed that milk company Oravida posted an important Chinese import clearance document on the internet just days before giving a large donation to the National Party.

“This suggests Oravida is boasting about having received clearance to export again from China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) after being prevented by Chinese reaction to the Fonterra botulism scare,” says Leader Rt Hon Winston Peters.

“Their gratitude was shown three days later when the National Party received a $30,000 donation from them.

“Oravida was grateful particularly to Justice Minister Judith Collins, who followed up on an Oravida plea for government help. Her husband is a director of Oravida.

“Minister Collins not only had lunch and dinner with Oravida bosses in China. A senior border official was present at the dinner. She also visited the company’s office.

“No other New Zealand dairy company got that sort of direct assistance from a Minister of the Crown on the ground in China where respect for titles is huge.

“This is serious evidence that Oravida did benefit from Minister Collins’ visit. She and the Prime Minister John Key should stop denying it,” says Mr Peters.
