Dunne Receives Major Safari Club Award

UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne has been awarded Honorary Membership of the New Zealand Chapter of Safari Club International “in recognition of outstanding contributions and service to New Zealand recreational hunting.”

Safari Club International is an international organisation of hunters dedicated to protecting the freedom to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation, with more than 50,000 members and 180 local chapters.

The Award was made to Mr Dunne to acknowledge the work he has done to promote the interests of recreational hunters in New Zealand, including the establishment of the Game Animal Council.

“I was overwhelmed and delighted to receive this Award,” Mr Dunne said.

“I have always believed in a balanced approach to conservation and wildlife management, and have long considered that recreational hunters have an important role to play in this,” he said.

Mr Dunne was presented with his Award by New Zealand Chapter Safari Club International President Bruce Flett at a ceremony in Wellington last night.
