Appointments to NZSO Board
Paul McArthur has been appointed to the Board of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and members Peter Diessl and Roger Taylor have been re-appointed, Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage Christopher Finlayson announced today.
Paul McArthur is the founder of The Syndicate Trade House which successfully operates internationally, and has a record in philanthropy, particularly in the music sector. He is an International advisory board member of Oasis Africa and is involved as an adviser for a number of charitable trusts.
Peter Diessl has a long history in music management and governance and is director of several companies. He has served as vice-chair of the Chamber Music New Zealand Board and as a member of the New Zealand String Quartet Foundation Board. He has been a member of the NZSO Board since 2007.
Roger Taylor has worked in the financial, economic and general management advice field for over 30 years. He is a chartered accountant and has a wide range of governance experience on public and private boards. He has been a member of the NZSO Board since August 2006.
The objective of the NZSO, a Crown entity, is to enrich the musical life of New Zealanders by presenting artistically excellent concerts, performed throughout the country and abroad by a full time professional orchestra of international standing.
