Minimum Wage Increase an Insult
“I bet people on the minimum wage are jumping for joy right now. After all they will get a whopping 25 more cents per
hour for working their arses off!” says MANA Leader and MP for Te Tai Tokerau Hone Harawira.
“An extra 25 cents is a kick in the guts to people who keep this country running. MANA, the Greens, Labour, the churches
and the unions all know that if people want to have a reasonable standard of living then they need a living wage. A
living wage is set by non-political groups at $18.40 per hour, not $13.75. What an insult”.
