“I’m glad MANA voted with Labour, Greens, and NZ First in opposing this government and their road to hell for the poor” said MANA leader and MP for Te Tai Tokerau, Hone Harawira following the vote of confidence in the Government taken in Parliament this afternoon.
“4 years of National and all we’ve got is the same shitty Maori & Pacific unemployment rate that’s still 3 times higher than that for Pākehā; only half of all Maori & Pacific people in a job; the rich getting richer and the poor getting shafted; Whanau Ora being funded to fail; child poverty and homelessness on the increase; wage levels lower than in the last 25 years; poor people getting kicked out of their homes; prison numbers sky high and set to get higher; a government dead set on asset sales and vehemently opposed to Maori water rights; and yet the Maori Party is happy to give National their confidence … go figure …”
