John Key is a monkey’s uncle

John Key is a monkey’s uncle

John Key’s continued attacks on Labour’s fiscal strategy are utterly embarrassing given that National has been exposed for having a $1 billion dollar hole in its own accounts, says Labour Leader Phil Goff.

“John Key, who said he was across National’s numbers, has clearly been using his Merrill Lynch calculator. He’s not only banked the proceeds from the asset sales, but he’s claiming he can also keep spending the dividends despite the fact they’ll be lost when the power companies are flogged off to foreigners.

“The National leader says he’ll be a ‘monkey’s uncle’ if our figures are right. Well I think he’s been shown up as a chump because our figures not only add up, but we’re being honest and upfront about them with Kiwis.

“John Key should give up the glib one-liners and focus on the issues that matter to New Zealanders.

“He’s spending so much time talking about Labour’s policies, it’s becoming increasingly clear he has no ideas of his own.”
