Members Day And Student Unions
Following Question Time and the General Debate today, MPs will return to the committee stage of the Royal Society of New Zealand Amendment Bill .
This will be followed by the second reading debate on the Southland District Council (Stewart Island/Rakiura Visitor Levy) Empowering Bill.
It is expected the Government will deal with both of these bills today in order to complete the final parts of the committee stage of the Education (Freedom of Association) Amendment Bill, before the House rises for the evening.
The bill has been the subject of a rearguard filibuster and Labour's shadow leader of the House Trevor Mallard explained his party's tactics in a recent interview on Parliament Today.
