Labour mourns the loss of Corporal Doug Grant
Labour Leader Phil Goff today expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of Corporal Doug Grant who was killed trying to save the lives of others during a Taleban attack in Kabul.
“My heart goes out to Corporal Grant’s wife Tina, their children and wider family and friends as they come to terms with their terrible loss. I’d also like to convey my condolences to the members of Corporal Grant’s SAS unit and the wider Defence Force community.
“Corporal Grant was a valued, long-serving member of the Defence Force. He was a top soldier, clearly proud of the SAS unit he was part of and his role within it.
“I acknowledge his contribution and dedication as a soldier who died in the service of his country and express on behalf of the Labour Party our profound sadness at the loss of his life.”
