Return To The Filibuster
Following Question Time today, MPs will hold the General debate.
The first item on the Order Paper after this is the Private Bill in the name of Grant Robertson - the Royal Society of New Zealand Amendment Bill.
Labour MPs are currently delaying progress on this bill in the committee stage because they oppose the next legislation scheduled to be debated – the Education (Freedom of Association) Amendment Bill .
That bill has also stalled in the committee stage with Members bills only debated one evening a fortnight.
