Where: Moving around Christchurch
Who: Green Party Spokesperson for the Christchurch Earthquake Kennedy Graham
The Green Party office in downtown Durham Street was damaged in the earthquake and is currently unusable. As an interim
measure Christchurch based Green MP Kennedy Graham has set up his office in a mobile home.
Dr Graham and staff will be based in the office and will organise a series of rolling meetings throughout the city with
Green Party members and the public to listen to their concerns.
The Green Party is also organising a group of volunteers to facilitate the distribution of food aid and visit houses in
the stricken suburbs in the east and south.
The plan is to have one meeting a day throughout the city.
“The Green Party has been organising its members to help with the recovery effort in Christchurch and the mobile office
will help us reach more people,” said Dr Graham.
“I am really looking forward to meeting more people across Christchurch. I believe it is vital that MPs from across the
spectrum listen to the people of Christchurch.
“It is their lives, homes and city that have been shattered. In the coming days and months their voices need to be
central in deciding how we rebuild our city,” said Dr Graham.
