The Education (Freedom of Association) Amendment Bill passed it second reading by 64 votes to 54 with National, ACT and the United Future supporting.

MPS began the second reading of the Employment Relations (Workers’ Secret Ballot for Strikes) Amendment Bill.

This bill amends the Employment Relations Act 2000 to require unions to hold a secret ballot of their members before undertaking any strike action.
