Debate Allowed On Justice Wilson
After Question Time, Speaker Lockwood Smith allowed an application to debate the Government’s decision to accept the resignation of Justice Wilson.
Dr Smith said the resignation was a matter of importance which should be debated, but warned MPs not to attack the judiciary as he wished to maintain the constitutional understandings that separate the business of Parliament and the courts.
