New appointments to NZ Film Commission board
Producer and director Chris Hampson and production house general manager Cameron Harland have been appointed to the board of the New Zealand Film Commission, Minister for Arts and Culture Christopher Finlayson announced today.
Chris Hampson has over thirty years of involvement in the New Zealand film and broadcast industry. He has produced numerous film and television projects, written for television, directed for theatre and acted on both stage and screen. Most recently, Mr Hampson produced the television movie Stolen, about the kidnapping of baby Kahu Durie, and the award winning television series Kaitangata Twitch, adapted from the books by Margaret Mahy. Mr Hampson was also executive producer for 2009 NZ feature film Under the Mountain. Earlier in his career, he was part of ScreenVision NZ developing the low budget full-length features, and was an executive producer of Savage Honeymoon and Scarfies.
Cameron Harland is General Manager of Client Services for Park Road Post Production. Park Road is a premiere post-production facility situated in Miramar, Wellington along with Weta Digital and Weta Workshop. He has previously worked in advertising and media management, including management positions at the New Zealand Rugby Union, and Saatchi and Saatchi.
